Just a few biographical details about myself.

Location: Lancashire, England

I first started making classical guitars over 20 years ago.

After starting to learn to play guitar, I was disappointed and frustrated by the quality of the instrument I was using. I decided to try my hand at making my own and set about finding information on guitar making.

Like many guitar makers, my initial information came from A. P. Sharpe's book on Spanish guitar construction. This was followed by McLeod & Welford and Sloane. Both of these books have inspired numerous guitar makers.

My guitars were stocked by leading guitar centres.

The renowned Ivor Mairants was generous with his help and support. In his book about the guitar, Ivor described me as an up-and-coming young luthier.

Famous concert artists, such as Julian Bream, John Williams and Alirio Diaz tried out my guitars and gave very favourable comments on them.

Circumstances prevented me from being able to dedicate myself to the craft of luthier: I had to pursue another career. It was only a few years ago that I returned to guitar making but I now pursue it full-time.

My instruments are currently available at selected guitar centres and directly from myself. For further information, send me an e-mail: Just click on the e-mail tab above.
